Slatted frames and bed boxes
What the mattress lies upon may be important when it has to support the mattress characteristics.
A slatted frame should always match the mattress. The point elasticity of a mattress can be reinforced by a highly adaptable slatted frame whereas a rigid base can diminish its effect. This especially applies to mattresses made of foam and cold foam, but also latex. Goog memory foam mattresses which mostly consist of a memory foam layer of at least 6 to 8 cm on top of a more rigid foam base are not affected to that extent. Mattresses with a thinner layer of memory foam cannot really be considered as memory foam mattress. Pocket springs mattresses with a thickness of nealy 30 cm and more, like our spanish models, do not need a highly adaptable base and in most cases can be user with simple slatted frames.

Hasena slatted frames
The slatted frames from Hasena are made with wooden frames and perfectly match Hasena beds.
Hasena does not offer a simple bed box but instead the bedding-box Practico for use with the slatted bases Ultrafree Lift KF or Econom Move which open by pneumatic compression spring. This box replaces the legs under a standard bedframe which can be seen in the different bed series.

Dupen slatted frames and bed boxes
Slatted frames from Dupen, as most spanish slatted frames are made with metal frames and normally are slightly bigger than waht they are called. Therefor they are not suitable for Hasena and most other central European beds but perfectly fit into the cane beds from rattandeco. Although their slats, like with most spanish slatted frames, are not equipped with elastic brackets they can be used with strong pocket springs mattresses.
In addition to the slatted bases Dupen offers so-called "upholstered bases", canapes and bed boxes with with rigid tops.

The Spanish bed boxes are an easy and inexpensive solution if you need storage capacity. Nevertheless, we recommend more the bedding-box Practico from Hasena because it guarantees a better ventilation, which is important for the storage of textiles or duvets to prevent from mildew.
Please always remember that Spanish slatted frames do not fit into Hasena beds.
